Language and communication is at the heart of society. Learning how to use language to communicate wants and have needs met can be a complex task for many children. Our course will explore how language develops and the intricate challenges many children face who experience a variety of physical, emotional and cognitive difficulties.

readers response?
hey...so i was looking at another blog post and i have to say i know that the reader response thing isn't due this upcoming week...but can anyone tell me what it is and how it's done?
First just a reminder as the post on establishing and maintaining a topic requested...this would be a great comment to add to THAT discussion instead of starting a NEW post. This helps by keeping ALL ideas/info about this ONE topic in ONE place. It also helps to lessen the number of initial posts people have to scroll through to see the topics on the blog. You receive points for posts as well as comments. THANKS!
You will be given the article in class this week. As is stated in the Assignments folder of Blackboard you will...
Read the entire article - if you did not get the article in class - get a copy from a friend.
Write three-five paragraphssummarizing how this article connects to topics we have discussed in the first 5 weeks of class.
Write 1-3 paragraphs summarizing new information you have learned from the article.

Im still not sure how to make my own Post, I only know how to comment so if anyone can please post something to tell me how, I know this makes me look stupid but im just not good with the computer stuff. Thanks
In order to make a new post, you must login. The login option is in the upper right hand corner of the homepage. After signing in, you will see "new post" in the upper right hand corner of the homepage as well. Click on "new post" and then you should see a text box. Just type in what you wish to say, and then click publish! Hope that this helps. If you still need help or don't understand something, I would be glad to help, just let me know.
Mrs. White did you mean March 3rd? And just to verify what you said above we will receive the article in class and will complete the task in class? Will we do several of these over the course of the semester or is this the only one?
Heather, I will give the article out this Wednesday, February 27th. You have a week to complete it and submit it online. The next week is Wednesday, March 5th. It is due BY CLASS TIME. I prefer that it be submitted electronically online but will accept it if it is given to me in class.
This is the only one you will do this semester for my class.
