Language and communication is at the heart of society. Learning how to use language to communicate wants and have needs met can be a complex task for many children. Our course will explore how language develops and the intricate challenges many children face who experience a variety of physical, emotional and cognitive difficulties.

I believe that's ok, because his language is still developing. You need a child that's language is developing, so that's around the ages of 2 to 5 years old. I think, but I could be wrong.
AGE is not the determining factor. It is the developmental STAGE of the child. Consider where the child's language is.
If the child has fully developed language then, no I would not use them. Someone asked about a four year old that they thought is advanced. I doubt the four year old has the language of an adult...so in this case a four year old would be fine.
A child with autism, does he/she have fully developed functional language? If the answer is no, then this would be a good person with whom to interact and generate discourse or observe using language in natural spontaneous ways.
Does this help? If not continue to ask clarifying questions.
I think that helps. Thank you =)
Mrs. White I have a question... i live in Ohio and if I want to do my project on my neighbor I would have to do it over spring break. My problem is what if his mother doesn't approve of me using him for this project? How am I supposed to find someone I can use if I can't find someone else by the end of spring break?
Then you will have to do it once you return to Richmond. I'm sure there are others in the class who know of children who you can use.
