Introduction
Hello everyone! I am Melissa and I am a Junior majoring in Special Ed/LBD P-5. I worked in the school system for several years as a teacher's aide in Special Education. Although I have years of experience in this field, I was never educated about the disabilities of the children I worked with. I am looking foward to exploring these areas so that as a teacher, working with children with special needs, I will not only understand the difficulties these children face in their education, but be able to help them as well. I think this course will be extremely beneficial and I am looking forward to learning!

Hello Melissa at what school did you work at as a teachers aid? I am also very interested in working with children who have special needs.
Hello, Melissa!! My name is Jessica. I think you have posted a comment to my intro post already. Isn't it funny that we can work in a school system with children and not know anything about them or their disabilities. You would think that it would make our jobs hard, but you learn as you go, I guess. All I know is that I love working with the children and I try to keep up with them and any disabilities they may have.
