Hey! :)

Hey Everyone! My name is Heather Rector and I am a junior at EKU. I just recently changed my major from communication disorders to an Elementary Ed. and Special Ed. major. I am from Frankfort but just got my first apartment in Richmond this past year. I wanted to first start off saying that this is my first time using the blogs in a class but I think I am going to like it. I think it is a great way to communicate with you Mrs. White and for us to better get to know our classmates. I am looking forward to the semester! :)

Thanks, Heather! I am biased towards technology as a means to facilitate communicate. But, I do believe if everyone takes advantage of it, it truly can work in YOUR favor. You can seek out ways to use it to help you in a variety of ways.

I do check it FREQUENTLY and respond. It is a way to get questions answered and then others can also see the information, ask follow-up questions, have the information clarified, etc.

I haven't seen it happen too frequently yet but I am curious to see how students might use it to discuss confusing concepts in the text, class, etc. Once ongoing dialogue about topics are posted on the blog (and I've interjected as well) that becomes available for notes at the time of the online tests as well :)

I'm overlooking 127 right now from 17th floor window, the snow is melting in Frankfort as I type. I'm on my lunch time and tucking in a few of my EKU blogs before going back to my "day job."

It's my first time blogging to. I've heard a lot about blogs but never thought about using it in a class. I really like the idea of it and it itself for communicating with one another. Who knows, I may even start my own blog after this.
