I enjoyed the first day of class. I'm glad we are going to not do the break thing, I'd rather just get out a little bit earlier. I look forward to seeing everyone next Wednesday!

Language and communication is at the heart of society. Learning how to use language to communicate wants and have needs met can be a complex task for many children. Our course will explore how language develops and the intricate challenges many children face who experience a variety of physical, emotional and cognitive difficulties.

I truly will attempt to start promptly at 6:00 and conclude at 8:30 the nights we have no break.
I know the days are LONG for everyone. I truly DO understand that. I leave my house in Lexington at 6:30 - 6:45 a.m. to arrive in Frankfort at my full time job at 7:30 a.m. I then leave at 4:00 p.m. in order to arrive in Richmond and be prepared to teach at 6:00 p.m. I typically arrive back home in Lexington 15 hours after I left that morning, at 9:30 p.m. I realize many awake EARLY and drive SEVERAL miles to come to campus in Richmond and also get home very LATE.
For some of us the night class is a CHOICE. For others it may not be but rather something we have to do for a variety of reasons.
I want to encourage each of you to do what you need to do within the 2 1/2 hours to stay alert and focused. If you need to stand, stretch, get a drink - do so. I will do my best to make the instruction as engaging as possible so you will be actively involved.

I'm with you on the no break thing. I would rather sit then go all the way to 8:45. Night classes are not my favorite! Thanks for giving us options to get through the class period Mrs. White. Sounds like a good plan!
I agree with the no break, especially now that its snowing and the weather is getting bad.
